Turned down by the bank?

You apply, you wait, and the answer comes back: declined. No explanation beyond “credit history”. It knocks your confidence, and it can leave a mark on your file if you keep applying blind.

Here’s what the bank doesn’t tell you: they only sell their own products. A default from 2022 or a settled CCJ might rule you out with them and be perfectly acceptable to a specialist lender the same day.

That’s where we come in. We find the lenders whose criteria actually fit your history, so you apply once, in the right place.

Credit Problems We Work With

Every situation below has lenders willing to consider it. What matters is how recent it is, the amounts involved and your deposit. An adviser will tell you honestly where you stand.

CCJs and defaults

Satisfied or unsatisfied, recent or historic. The right lender depends on the detail, and we know which lender fits which case.

IVAs and debt management plans

In one now or completed years ago, options exist. We will tell you what is realistic today and what improves your position for later.

Discharged bankruptcy

More lenders will consider you than most people expect, especially once you are a few years past discharge.

Missed payments and arrears

One late phone bill is not the same as mortgage arrears, and lenders treat them differently. We put your case to the ones that see the difference.

Low credit score, no clear reason

Thin credit files and scoring quirks catch out plenty of good borrowers. A human underwriter can look past a number.

Remortgaging with bad credit

Trapped on a high rate because of your file? We check whether a specialist remortgage could bring your monthly payment down.

“Having had 2 negative broker experiences I finally found Trinity Finance. From the beginning I felt finally like I was talking to a trustworthy, honest broker who was being transparent from the outset. Lee was brilliant as was James. Between them they kept me well informed on progress and helped us reach a successful mortgage offer. Highly recommend Lee from Trinity Finance.”

“From day one, Vijay demonstrated exceptional professionalism, deep knowledge, and a genuine commitment to supporting us through our mortgage journey. When our vendor unexpectedly pulled out halfway through and market rates changed, it could have easily derailed everything. However, Vijay remained calm, proactive, and determined, ultimately managing to secure our original rate despite the circumstances.”

Your Questions, Answered

Can I get a mortgage with a CCJ?

Often, yes. Lenders look at when the CCJ was registered, how much it was for and whether it is satisfied. Some specialist lenders accept CCJs registered as recently as the last 12 months, usually with a larger deposit.

How much deposit will I need?

Typically 10–25% depending on how recent and how serious the credit issues are. The further behind you your problems are, the closer to a standard deposit you get. Your adviser will give you a real figure for your case.

Will you run a credit check that hurts my score?

No. We start with a soft check and a conversation. Nothing is applied for until you have seen the options and chosen one.

I was declined last month. Is it too soon to try again?

No, but it is the right time to apply differently. Being declined by one bank says very little about the wider market. What matters is applying to a lender whose criteria fit your file, which is exactly what we do.

What does your advice cost?

The initial conversation is free and there is no obligation. If we arrange your mortgage, any fees are explained clearly and upfront before you commit to anything.
